In less than 4 days we will have a good idea whether or not the All Whites are likely to qualify for the World Cup in South Africa next year. Away goals may well be the key, and so, besides the obvious desirable result of a clear win, the All Whites will hopefully score at least a few goals. A 3-3 or 4-4 draw would actually be an excellent result playing away against a team ranked 36 places above them in the world rankings.
The undeniable reality is that we should lose, and lose badly to Bahrain. In this regard we do not actually have a lot to lose, and this fact could actually help us mentally. As long as it is still worth while to go in Wellington in a few weeks time then I will be happy.
Thanks to Andrew Mulligan for the terrible title idea of this post.
