I am a big advocate for doing things that get the biggest bang for your buck -
- Training your weakness if you are an athlete
- Surrounding yourself with people and in environments that help you achieve your goals
- Focusing on large muscle group, multi-joint exercises if you want to gain muscle
- Smarter training (before buying an light (expensive) seat post) if you want to cycle faster
- Eating some protein + carbohydrate just before and immediately after exercise to maximise muscle protein gain
- Focusing on Nutrition rather than Exercise if you want to lose fat
And now there is another one you can add to this list:
Washing your hands rather than taking vitamins if you want to prevent a cold.
Also, an interesting quote from one of the directors of the company that reported this finding:
“Not only is there no proof that some antioxidants prolong life, but there is some evidence that certain products may even lead to earlier death”
